Where are you wearing your FLEX Ring?

February 08, 2017

Rings are our thing.  We OBVIOUSLY (insert chuckle here) love them!  Valentine's Day is around the corner, and I thought of writing about gifts, love, and all that mushy stuff.  (Which may come at a later date...another chuckle.)  Instead, I started thinking about men and rings.  Married men with wedding bands and high school graduates with their class rings are all that come to mind as the average males who don the finger jewelry.  Curious to find out more, I did some research and found that there is actually a "guide" for men on how to wear rings.  I'll attach the link in case you want to read the entire "manly" guide, but here's the short of it.

Rings for men have always been associated with status, wealth, commitment, and associations. However, where they are worn is very symbolic.  Perhaps that is an obvious statement if you are thinking of the wedding band.  BUT, symbolism doesn't end there.  Let's take the right and left hands.  Generally speaking, the right hand is seen as and symbolizes the "physical".  It's one thought to be used more for gestures and work.  On the other hand – no pun intended-  the left  symbolizes the "mental" and is associated with character and beliefs.

The fingers have their own symbolic meaning, and a statement is made when it comes to wearing rings.  (a FLEX Ring perhaps?)  To begin with, a ring on the pinky finger is a "statement" itself and is generally associated with intellect and the ability to express oneself.  More commonly known to North Americans, a band on the ring finger embodies romantic relationships, and we associate a ring on the left finger as symbolizing marriage.  Conversely, if worn on the right ring finger, it symbolizes engagement.  If the appearance of structure, balance, conscience, and order is desired, the middle finger is the one to be adorned.  A ring on the index finger suggests power, leadership, authority, and confidence.  Ion the thumb, a ring signals wealth and influence. Also in pop culture of today, a ring on the thumb is a reminder to not text and drive.  Let me say, it's interesting information, and I learned a few things about fingers and hands today.  Who knew, men, where you wear a ring makes a statement?

"We hit the river and tested the current's strength against FLEX Rings and THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. In fact, jewelry usually gets on my nerves while playing outdoors. Not only did I feel confident the ring wasn't going to be pulled off, I also managed to spend the rest of the day without ever noticing it while paddling."
